Tuscan Region- Wine & Olive Oil Vineyard

Our trip back to Florence from Pisa had one of the most laugher filled nights so far… as we were going wine tasting at a winery/olive vineyard in the Tuscan region of Italy.  After a view of the vines, where one of the wine makers took quite a liking to Judy much to our evenings amusement, we enjoyed a wonderful homemade pasta dinner.  As wine tastings go I have never had one where they just give you bottle after bottle to enjoy to your heart’s content… the wine was very good and many bottles may have found thier way back to the bus but may not make it home to the US.   Today is also my mom’s birthday- how lucky is she to celebrate her birthday in Italy at a vineyard.  We even arranged a special Tiramisu with a candle for her at dinner, but her desert wasn’t the highlight of the meal as when the wine maker showed how to dip the biscotti into the desert wine, which tasted like a sweet brandy, and feed it to your lady and if she doesn’t slap you defiantly repeat.  To cleanse our palates we top the entire meal off with a Grappa… a shot of liquor sure to make you tipsy even if we hadn’t had a few bottles of vino.
As we left dinner we went into the courtyard where music was playing, then we really got the party started.  Dancing and laugher ensued as our entire group danced with anyone and everyone.  My mom decided it was time Robert and I learned to really dance so gave us a few lessons.  Unfortunately we had to cut the party short as we needed to make it back to Florence.  I am not sure our tour guide has ever seen a group who knows how to have fun like this group of Americans and Canadians.
